Franziska Quoß

Postdoctoral Researcher

Welcome!

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Survey Data Curation Department at GESIS in Cologne, Germany. I am a political scientist with a strong background in quantitative and survey methods. My research focuses on the fields of environmental politics and public opinion.

I conducted my PhD at ETH Zurich in the International Political Economy and Environmental Politics Group under the supervision of Thomas Bernauer.  During this time, I was the project coordinator of the Swiss Environmental Panel

My dissertation studied the interaction between the environment and individuals' environmental attitudes and behaviour. The questions I ask include: to what extent does extreme weather affect climate and political attitudes, and how will this affect voting behaviour? Does the environment matter for Swiss citizens' voting behaviour, and if yes, to what extent and for which subsets of the population? And how does the strategic behaviour of politicians along the electoral cycle affect the environment?
